Gastech is the gas / LNG / energy-technology global flagship — where producers, midstream operators, and the technology supply chain meet for four days. 2025 ran in Milan at Fiera Milano.
Why 2025 was distinctive
Three threads:
- Energy security after the 2022-2024 European supply shock — LNG infrastructure investment is back at pre-2014 levels in Europe. Multiple new terminal announcements at the conference.
- Midstream digitalisation — pipeline integrity, leak detection, and predictive maintenance as the AI/ML beachhead for the gas community
- Hydrogen-as-a-natural-gas-blend — the bridging fuel conversation, with infrastructure cost models from KAPSARC, Wood Mackenzie, and S&P Global
EarthScan presence
Tarry attended on the floor + speaker tracks. The most relevant operator conversation: a major European TSO (transmission system operator) asked about applying VeerNet-style digitisation to historical pipeline-inspection records. Different data shape but the same underlying problem (legacy archive → queryable digital).
