Offshore Europe is the biennial event for the North Sea offshore oil and gas community. P&J Live in Aberdeen, four days, ~30,000 attendees across operators, service companies, and the supply chain. The 2025 edition was the 25th — Offshore Europe has been running since 1973.

Why 2025 mattered

The North Sea is in a late-life-asset + transition moment. The 2025 conference programme reflected it:

  • Decommissioning — multiple sessions on AI-assisted asset inventory, decommissioning planning, and the data-archive problem (literally what VeerNet solves)
  • Carbon storage — North Sea CCS projects (Northern Lights, Endurance, etc.) had a dedicated track
  • Hydrogen — emerging from offshore-wind-coupled production

What EarthScan watched

Tarry attended and worked the floor. The strongest signal: every operator we spoke to has a "what do we do with our 40-year log archive" problem. Several have purchased commercial digitisation services that produced poor results and are open to better options. We followed up with three operators post-conference.

Why it's a 2027 event next

Offshore Europe is biennial (odd years). The next edition is SPE Offshore Europe 2027 in Aberdeen — almost certainly a priority booth for EarthScan once the customer roster justifies the investment.
